From Bruneau Dunes we continued east into Utah stopping at Bear Lake State Park before continuing east to Steinaker State Park via the Flaming Gorge.
Just west of Bear Lake we climbed up through Logan Canyon where we saw our first red fall colors. The pass at the top of the canyon is a little over 7,800 feet, our first high mountain pass on this trip, but certainly, not our last. Looking back, I think this was the highest our camper had been in the three plus years that we have owned.

Heading east we discovered a National Monument we had realized was on our route. Although it is now a butte, the land was a lake bottom long ago so fossils of all sorts of swimming creatures have been found. We were happy that the Visitor Center was open.
To be truthful, the red streak at the Flaming Gorge, while very noticeable, wasn’t quite this noticeable.
