Benson, Valley Vista RV Park, a Western Horizons and RPI park.  ☼☼ Small sites, small laundry, good dog walking area.  If staying there again try to get into St. David RV Resort.  Just a few miles off of the Interstate but it appears to be a much nicer park-also Western Horizons and RPI.  For a commercial park in town go to Butterfield Resort.  They have an Observatory to use!

Bullhead City, Ridgeview RV Resort, Sunrise and RPI campground. ☼☼☼ Good dog walking fair sized spaces with concrete patio.  Several laundries in the park.  Nice looking pool.

Casa Grande, Western Horizons Park ☼☼☼ Very wide drives and good sized spaces with concrete patio.  Lots of activities.  Nice, small pool and small laundry.  Dog park very close.  Dog walk area in park small and across the park from where short timers stay which is on the side of the park next to a busy road.  50 amp costs extra.

California

Battle Creek Campground, Lassen National Forest ☼☼☼ Very quite and nice campground on Battle Creek.  From Red Bluff go east on Hwy 36 to a mile or so before Mineral.  Great Forest Service roads for dog walking.  $18 per night in July 2009 which seems high for NF CG.  Pics

Camp Pendleton.  The Marine base has at least two campgrounds, one on the beach and one at Lake O'Neil.  We stayed at O'Neil in 2009 ☼☼☼ Some sites are in the open and some are in the shade.  Some are full hook ups and some are water and electric only.  $20 for W&E.  Plenty of room to walk the dogs. Pics

Camp San Luis Obispo.  ☼☼☼ only 12 sites and all open but with large grassy area between sites.  Only has 20 amp power.  $17 in 2009.  Good area for dog walks.  A small National Guard Base with a convenient Laundromat. Pics

Crescent City.  Redwoods RV park ☼☼☼☼  Spaces are set under huge trees with lots of room between sites.  $31.50 with Good Sam discount in 2009.  Good dog walking in in non-renovated camp sites along the edge of the park.  If these get renovated and used dog walking will be poor.  Pics

Dorabella Campground, Sierra National Forest. .☼☼ 1/2 mile from the town of Shaver Lake.  Old NF campground with a variety of sites and narrow roads.  Good for tents, small rigs, most Motorhomes but long 5th wheels will have trouble in many places. Pics

Loomis-Loomis RV Park.☼☼ A former KOA.  A bit run down but many of the sites have good shade and are wider than many newer RV Parks.  Far enough from freeway to miss most freeway noise.  Relatively busy road alongside and railroad tracks across the street.  Poor dog walking area.  $35 with military discount July 09

Monterey Fairgrounds. ☼☼ The main portion of this campground is above and behind the buildings.  Spaces are small and tight.  Overflow is a large field which has full hookups around the edges.  Pricey.  $40 in 2009 (which is cheap for the Monterey area).  Pics

Monterey Pines.  The Navy campground.  Most sites are small and look hard to maneuver into (we didn't stay here).  Above the golf course so you are near the golf club restaurant and snack shop.

Petaluma Coast Guard Station. ☼☼☼ 6 rv sites, all have concrete apron and all are pull-throughs.  No shade in 4 of the 6.  Possible shade in the other two.  Very large, empty, field adjacent for good dog walking.  Nice berry bush in in August.  $17 in 2009.  Pics

Pt Mugu Naval Air Station.  ☼☼☼☼ Right on a very nice beach.  The central part of the campground has large spaces and is a minute from the beach.  There are also 6-10 sites that backup to a sandy strip and then the seawall.  They are very narrow sites but the view is great.  No shade.  50 amp power. $23 in 2009 Pics

Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station.  ☼☼☼☼ Great location.  New.  Nice laundry.  Most sites are pull throughs.  All have concrete pad and lawn between sites.  Good dog walking areas. Pricey $27 per night but still cheap for SoCal. 50 amp.

Vandenberg Air Force Base ☼☼☼ Some very nice sites but you have to spend a week or so waiting to get into one.  No reservations.  $17 in 2009.  30 amp power.  Good area to walk the dogs but do it one at a time as they go crazy wanting to chase the hundreds of prairie dogs.

Yosemite Lakes Resort.  ☼☼☼ A Thousand Trails/RPI park.  Some great sites ( narrow) backing up to the South Fork of the Tuolumne River.  Pics
